Pagan Or Predator?

Recently, a page was pulled from the Internet. It was put up by a person claiming to be a "Pagan High Priest" or some such, offering to "initiate" young women "between the ages of 13 and 20" into Paganism. The page owner had all manner of caveats to this purported "initiation", including a demand that the "initiates" never say a word about the "initiation". He also claimed that "virgins would have more power" and that this was a "sacrifice" that "would prove your sincerity to the Gods". I can only imagine who might have taken him seriously and taken him up on his monstrous offer. Trolling for rape victims. Makes me shudder.

There are, unfortunately, many people, new to Paganism, who would think that this person was actually offering initiation services. They wouldn't realize that this was a sexual predator, and would fall for his "offer". And they would become a victim of sexual abuse, perhaps never knowing it.

If you decide to follow the Pagan Path, reputable individuals are not going to demand that you perform sex acts in order to "prove" yourself to the Gods. If you are approached by this type of individual, or find one somewhere (on the Internet, for example), please either report the individual to the authorities or to other Pagan individuals to whom you feel comfortable speaking.

Believe me, reputable Pagans will exert all possible effort in ridding the community of such individuals. We are not tolerant of people behaving in this manner.

Please don't allow people like this to continue to take advantage of people's ignorance and sincere desire to explore the Pagan Path. By your silence, you become as bad as the person described in this article.
